The LUSWP swimming programme consists of two different, yet highly successful squads, the LUSWP Performance Squad and the LUSWP Development Squad. We are proud to be able to offer a fantastic range of swimming opportunities for swimmers of all abilities, ranging from non-competitive swimmers training for fitness and to improve their technique, right up to National-level swimmers, aiming to compete for the university right up to British Summer Championship level.
LUSWP are successfully partnered with local high-performance club, Preston Swimming Club. Led by Head Coach, Paul Davison, the swimming programme has combined to create a wide variety of opportunities for LUSWP club members, including joint training sessions with Preston's elite club members and a greater range of racing opportunities under the PSC banner.
The final competition and highlight of the season is the fiercely contested Roses meet, against the University of York, which is a unique competitive and atmospheric spectacle.
Training hours are flexible around academic timetables but when in attendance positive engagement and your full commitment is expected. However, above all we want our swimmers to enjoy training, racing and socialising with their team mates and to thrive within one of the University’s most popular clubs.
